On Monday, October 7th, 2024, Dr. Wang and the available Neuroimaging for Language, Literacy and Learning Laboratory (NL3) team, Luke Kortus, Caden Anderjaska, Chen Liang, KayLei Svendsen, and Lauren Winn, gathered at Prehistoric Putt to engage in the lab’s yearly competitive team bonding. Dr. Wang took a picture for us before we went inside (shown below). This time was dedicated to engaging in competitive competition and learning more about each member. The night began with a shared meal. Meanwhile, we discussed our passions and future goals. Then the games began. Who knew mini gold could be so competitive?! As we worked through the blue course (the more challenging of the two courses), we encouraged each other, laughed at horrible swings, and realized that maybe mini-golf isn’t our best skill. Once the night ended, we took one more victory photo (shown below) next to a dinosaur and called the night a success. Although Prehistoric Putt humbled most of the NL3 team, we established new friendships that will further benefit the productivity and success of NL3 research.
